The Awel Môr is a large victorian terraced house with accommodation set over four floors. Situated directly on the sea front in the delightful seaside town of Criccieth the Awel Mor is to the west of Criccieth Castle and looks directly over Cardigan Bay, to Harlech Castle and to the mountains beyond. We offer a range of relaxing en-suite rooms (8 rooms in total), with some having spectacular sea views. Our south facing Guest Lounge is an ideal place to sit and read the newspapers or to chat to friends old and new. Whether you chose the healthy or hearty option, we offer a good quality breakfast using local produce in our comfortable dining room; the perfect way to start the day. The town centre with its variety of small shops, pubs and excellent restaurants is but a short stroll from the Awel Môr as is the historic castle. We are ideally situated for touring the Lleyn Peninsula, exploring the surrounding coastal villages, visiting the famous Portmeirion and riding the Ffestiniog or Welsh Highland Railways, to name but a few . The Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away making it a superb location for walkers, climbers, cyclists, families and the many other outdoor enthusiasts.

The Caerwylan probably enjoys some of the best coastal views in North Wales. The hotel faces south with stunning views over the main beach, Tremadog Bay and towards the ruins of Criccieth Castle. We are a small, friendly hotel with 24 clean and comfortable, individually designed en-suite bedrooms, many with lovely sea views. Our prices include full Welsh Breakfast. On the ground floor we have created a tranquil, sea facing Lounge, serving morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon teas, (during the summer months you can also enjoy snacks in our south facing garden). A contemporary Bar stocks a wide range of spirits, wines, lagers and locally brewed beers. In 2012 we opened our elegant, fine dining Tonnau Restaurant with views of the sea, castle and garden. Our Chefs use good, local suppliers and regularly change the menu. The Tonnau is open to residents and non residents, from Easter until early November, for dinner seven days a week. During the quieter winter months the opening periods vary. Advance booking is recommended. There is one family bedroom (Room 21 – minimum age for children 12). Apart from Room 21, please note it is not our policy to have 2 adults and a baby/child in any of our double bedrooms. The Caerwylan is an ideal base to explore Criccieth (a gentle stroll takes you to all the town amenities), the beautiful beaches of the Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the many famous steam railways, castles and golf courses of North Wales.
